Fall/Winter Semester Recap - 2023/2024

Fall/Winter 2024 has been an exciting time here at Amanda Beagle Vocal Studio. Here are some highlights!

We were delighted to entertain at the Warren Hometown Holidays festival on Courthouse Square in Downtown Warren. Students performed holiday favorites and participated in the parade around Courthouse Square. We were so happy to spread holiday cheer and share our voices with the community.

Many students have been featured in local productions including “Young Frankenstein” and “A Christmas Carol” at TNT, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Shrek” at the Youngstown Playhouse, “Escape to Margaritaville” at the Kent Trumbull Branch, and “Suessical” at Warren JFK High School. Professional students also booked roles in regional productions of “Damn Yankees” and the “Wizard of Oz.” Graduating senior, Taylor Owen will be minoring in voice at Cleveland State next Fall.

Six students chose to participate in the National Federation of Music Clubs annual festival at the Dana School of Music. Students are adjudicated and receive comments for improvement. I was very proud of everyone's efforts in preparing for the event. This was the first time my studio participated post-covid and it is an event I plan to keep on our yearly calendar.

I myself gave a recital at the Kent Trumbull Branch entitled “Romanza: Romantic Italian Songs & Arias." I also performed with two extremely talented colleagues, Brianne Sampson and Eve McPherson, for Arts on Atlantic at Christ Episcopal Church. We presented a concert entitled “Sing Out! Three Sopranos in Concert.” It was a lovely afternoon and we were thrilled to collaborate with one another.

To round things out, I facilitated a masterclass at Grand Valley High School for the choral program under the direction of MacKenzie Pinto. I worked with the entire choir on the importance of alignment, breath management and anchoring and coached three soloists on art song selections.

We are looking forward to Spring semester which will feature many students participating in school musicals. The highlight of our season will be our Spring showcase concert, “Heroes VS Villains: Who will you root for?” on May 18th at Christ Episcopal Church.

Students here at Amanda Beagle Vocal Studio are thriving artists who love to sing. Continued personal growth is the main goal for every student. I love watching my students evolve into empowered performers and people.
